Blessings Monday

Monday nights I facilitate a ladies Bible study group at my church.  I also participate in another small ladies group that meets twice each month.  What a blessing it is to have a group of women in my life who truly seek the Lord.  These ladies are dedicated to gaining spiritual maturity.  They desire to know the Lord and to experience his presence.  I count it a blessing to have these ladies in my life.  I I can count on them to pray for whatever joy or concern is on my heart.  It is a privilege to do the same for them.

Selfless Sunday

Selfless Sunday Logo

The other day I aspired to do something for K that he would not expect.  As I made his morning coffee, I thought… this isn’t enough.  Making coffee is something I do often because I know he appreciates it.  I wanted this to be something he would not expect…  at all.  So I woke him up and gave him a nice back massage.  He is so spoiled.

It’s not about me.  I want to be deliberate about being selfless.  Selfishness haunts even the best of us.  I’m not looking for a pat on the back.  I’m posting to remind myself to keep up the efforts.

I had a couple of really good rides last week.  Any day that the sun shines and the wind barely blows… is a PERFECT day to ride.  So one night she followed me around like a lost puppy.  As you can tell, she is quite the comic.  I love the distorted angle of this picture!

We celebrated K’s birthday (early) along with his coworker, April’s birthday last weekend.  We went to Fate Lounge in the Strip to see Here Come the Mummies.  It was an interesting show and a good time.

Saturday’s Savings

Notice my new blogger background.  I’ve been meaning to do that for sometime now.  What do you think?

I haven’t clipped my coupons for a while.  Ugh.  Now it’s going to be a chore when I do.  Lucky for us, our pantry is still stocked well enough that I’ve only been buying a few essentials each week for several weeks now.  I noticed that I have a pending 20% discount available at the local grocery store.  I’ve been saving that for a larger grocery order.  I suppose I need to get myself organized so I can determine when is the best time to do that.  I’m also delighted that K’s employment is also running a 10% promotion on all their brands, which is another little push for savings.  I can’t complain.

Looking forward to this week, I should plan some meals.  I’m actually going to be away for a few days, so I’ll need to figure out what I can leave that is easy for K to fend for himself.  Better yet, I should just ask him what he wants.  I’ve been trying to be more deliberate about including more vegetables and sometimes fruit into our meals.  We have a tendency to default to sandwiches when I’m not planning ahead.  We LOVE sandwiches, but it’s just not healthy to eat so many of them.

I’m planning to make bacon, eggs, and toast for breakfast on Sunday.  I might serve it with a small bowl of berries too.  K has to work, so I want to be sure he is fed before he goes.  It might be more of a brunch type meal.

Salad is definitely on the menu.  I have some pre-cooked fajita style chicken in the freezer.  I also have a handful of shoestring fries in the freezer.  I’m thinking grilled chicken salads?  YUMMO!

I also have some stir-fry vegetable mix in the freezer.  I made some of it last week with pork and it was very good.  K said he liked it too.  He ate two large plates of it.  I may do that again.

The rest will be up to K.
