Putting faith into action cultivates trust in the Lord. As our assurance builds, our faith grows stronger, paving the way for God to use us in ways we never imagined.
I remember reading once .. "if you were arrested for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?" Interesting thought.. With each time we get the opportunity to present Christ to someone, whether specifically or just 'living the life'.. we are growing.. getting bolder and stronger. Standing up for what we believe in.. letting others know we don't approve of some thing or activity opens doors to discussions of 'WHY?'.. I appreciate it when someone says to me "you won't appreciate this, but....".. or they will avoid the discussion of whatever sinful things they have participated in in front of me, because they feel uncomfortable.. I put them on the spot and ask "Why?" I make a stand as best I am able. I dont' preach at people, but I serve the saviour and that is that. We have opportunities to be witnesses for Christ. ie.. telling others that we have little income, bills are due..etc.. "oh, Marilyn, how do you survive all this?".. my reply is always "God provides with his great grace and mercy".. "I'm not afraid of what comes next." (Yes, I get rattled.. but the response is to pray immediately, and so far He has been with me every time.) I am growing in faith, trust, patience (even though sometimes I wonder about myself), and also learning to be obedient. The more you grow in Christ, the more peace grows inside your heart.
